Emmaus Leicestershire and Rutland
Emmaus is a homelessness charity with a difference, providing more than just a bed for the night for people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion. We provide a home for as long as someone needs it, as well as meaningful work in our social enterprise. This works to help to restore feelings of self-esteem and give our companions, as residents are known, the opportunity to regain control of their lives.
Service Information
Service Overview
Our community in Hinckley provides a home and meaningful work to 12 people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion.
We currently house 14 formerly homeless individuals in our community house ‘Elm Lea’. Elm Lea was built in the 1850s and previously ran as a hotel. This means that all of our companions have their own double room and private bathrooms, as well as many large communal areas where they can socialise.
