As temperatures drop this winter, GIVE Leicester is proud to announce Open Hands Leicester as the charity partner for the 2025 campaign.

Open Hands provides practical support to people rebuilding their lives after homelessness, as well as those facing hardship across the city. Their work includes supplying food parcels, toiletries, warm clothing, and essential household items to help people settle safely into new accommodation and regain stability.

Through the GIVE Leicester scheme, the public can support this work by donating £3 with a simple tap at contactless giving points across the city centre, or by donating online. There are now more than 20 donation points in bars, cafés and shop windows – offering a safe, secure and trusted way to give, without fuelling addiction, exploitation or crime.

Since the project launched in 2021, GIVE Leicester has raised over £61,000, with 100% of donations going directly to local homelessness charities including Help the Homeless Leicester, Action Homeless and One Roof Leicester. Funds have helped provide food, clothing, emergency essentials and support for people moving into new homes.

This year’s partnership with Open Hands means that every tap will help bring dignity, warmth and hope to people who need it most.

“Every donation makes a real difference – helping people who’ve experienced homelessness to access the essentials they need as they settle into a new home and regain stability,” said Bethany Corbett, Charity Manager at Open Hands Leicester. “Alongside Action Homeless, One Roof Leicester, and many valued partners across the city, we’re committed to supporting people with dignity, warmth and hope.”

The GIVE Leicester project is delivered in partnership with BID Leicester, Leicester City Council, and the Leicester Homelessness Charter, ensuring donations are processed securely and go directly to registered local charities.
